  • Kia Ora! My name is Kimiora but I like to be called Kimi. I graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Health Science (Physiotherapy) in 2016 where I was awarded best overall final year clinical student in my graduate class. My experience is primarily in private practice physiotherapy. More recently I have had the pleasure of working in Auckland at both Greenlane Clinical Centre and Auckland City Hospital Pelvic Health Physiotherapy since returning from maternity leave.

My interest in Pelvic Health was peaked following the birth of my first child. Personally, experience with pelvic floor tone has given me useful insight into rehabilitation focussing on pelvic floor related dysfunction. Professionally, I have worked across gynaecological inpatient and outpatient settings, and have experience with colorectal, urological, pelvic and sexual pain, maternity and men’s pelvic health conditions. Common conditions I treat include: urinary incontinence and faecal incontinence, overactive bladder, birth related injuries, pelvic organ prolapse, persistent pelvic pain, vulvodynia, dyspareunia, constipation and defecation dysfunction. Specialist areas include pre and post-operative prostatectomy rehabilitation and lower anterior resection syndrome.

I was born and raised in Nelson and moved back to be closer to family. Prior to physio, my background was in dance where I trained professionally for three years before starting my physiotherapy studies. I am married to my wonderful husband Ciaran and am mum to our toddler Oliver. I enjoy tramping, yoga, pilates, dancing, baking, gardening and live performances of any kind.

My tertiary level qualifications are as follows:

    • Bachelor of Health Science Physiotherapy

    • Post graduate Certificate Western Acupuncture

    • Post graduate Diploma Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

I would be honoured to help you on your pelvic health journey. I am available at Elevate Physio Monday and Wednesday mornings. I also work at Te Whatu Ora Nelson Hospital in Pelvic Health outpatients.
